Ropes Course / Rock Wall
Campers begin by moving through our low ropes course, encouraging trust, respect, initiative, goal setting, and team work. This all leads to the 30' state-of-the-art climbing wall. This activity is offered to campers who are at least 10 years old.
Adventure 101
Designed to be the introduction to our most popular adventure activities such as Mountain Boarding and Rock Climbing, Adventure 101 gives our youngest campers hands-on experience with a little bit of everything our adventure program has to offer, it will also give them and introduction to classes they can choose in the years of camping ahead.
Mountain Biking
Explore and ride through Lonehollow's miles and miles of trails. This activity is offered to campers who are at least 10 years old.
Mountain Boarding
Ride the hills and trails around camp and through our mountain board course. Mountain boarding is a mix between snowboarding and mountain boarding. This activity is offered to campers who are at least 10 years old.
Outdoor Education
Learn about the great outdoors through hands-on experiences. Includes hiking, outdoor skills, backpacking, cooking, camping, nature, navigational skills, astronomy.
Backpacking
Take the adventure on the trail. Campers learn how to plan and execute a successful backpacking trip. Campers learn about equipment, low impact camping skills, cooking, conservation, first aid, nature. Campers who choose this class will go on a backpacking trip out into the back canyons of Lonehollow, putting their new skills to the test. Backpacking is offered to campers 12 and up.
Horseback Riding
One of Lonehollow's more popular classes, horseback riding gives campers the full equestrian experience. From stable skills, riding, grooming and more. This activity is broken into multiple experience levels. Western riding and English riding offered. Polocrosse and Jumping are available for advanced riders. This activity is offered to campers who are 9 years old and up, unless your camper rode with us last summer.
Outdoor Cooking
Learn a variety of outdoor cooking techniques, from full outdoor feasts to low impact backpacking meals. Best of all, campers sample the results.
Rocketry
Blast off with rocketry. Campers choose their base rocket kit from the camp store and design, construct, paint, launch, and recover their rocket.
Adventure Crafts
An adventure craft class. Campers create a variety of arts and craft projects including dream catchers, photo transfers, kinetic projects, stepping stones and more.
Drama
Act out! A fun class for all-stars in the making.
Photography
Learn to take great photographs including techniques, composition, and dark room skills. Shoot, Develop, Frame. This class is offered to campers who are at least 10 years old and offered durring the two and four week sessions.
Ceramics / Pottery
Take a spin on the pottery wheel and fire up something to take home.Offered during the two and four week sessions.
Knitting
Campers learn the basics leading them to creating a myriad of projects from scarves to hats.
Fused Glass
Learn how to create beautiful decorative and expressive glass jewelry and small sculptural pieces using fused glass techniques. Offered during two and four week sessions and to campers 10 and up.
Painting / Drawing
Learn painting and drawing skills and techniques and create something worthy to hang in any home gallery. Lonehollow’s beautiful setting creates inspiration!
Wood Working and Wood Crafts
Campers create fun projects using wood as their medium: Boats, cars, birdhouses, shadow boxes, etc. Limited only by imagination.
Swimming
Taught to swimmers of all skill level, this class takes place at the Lake Lonehollow pier and covers all swim strokes and all experience levels. Beyond lessons, swimming also includes free swim, and various water front elements (zipline, water trampoline and blob.) Swimming is required for campers 7 – 9 years old.
Canoeing / Kayaking
Campers learn the basics through advanced boating techniques.
SCUBA Diving
Discover the depths of the lakes at Lonehollow. This class is offered to campers who are at least 12 years old and have been classified by our swim instructors through a swim test as a strong swimmer. In addition they must also have reached their first level in snorkeling. Class offering subject availability of the PADI Dive Instructor for summer 2008.
Sailing
Raise your sail and catch some wind. Sailing is a popular activity offered to campers age 10 and up.
Snorkeling
Explore the depths of the clear blue spring-fed waters of Lake Lonehollow. This class is offered to campers age 10 and up, and are classified by our swim instructors through a swim test as a strong swimmer.
Fishing
Cast your line and get ready to reel one in. Campers learn from beginning to end in this class. Bait it, catch it, clean it, cook it, eat it. Fishers experience different environments as they fish on both of Lonehollow’s lakes in addition to the Sabinal River.
Water Games
Experience the most exciting water elements every class period. Water Games is all about the Zip-Line, The Water Trampoline, and let's not forget THE BLOB.
This class is offered to campers who are classified by our swim instructors through a swim test as a strong swimmer.
Sports
Lonehollow offers the following sports. Each sport activity covers fundamentals, skills, and lots of hands-on practice.

Riflery
Skill, Patience and Accuracy. Riflery teaches campers to shoot .22 bolt action rifles in a safe, controlled range environment.
Archery
The classic activity of skill and patience. Campers shoot increasing distances from the target and learn on a variety of bow styles.
Field Sports
Campers participate in a variety of traditional land sports. Designed for campers who are looking to mix things up and not focus on one specific sport. Just have fun and play!
Eclectics
As the name suggests, it’s a little bit of everything. Eclectics offers campers the opportunity to slow the pace while have a blast playing classic lawn games such as croquet, badminton bocce ball, table tennis, and more. Something different every day.
