Upon arrival at camp, campers will check-in to get their bunk assignments and will then head off to their cabins to make their beds and get acquainted with their fellow bunkmates and Guides. You will be notified via email when your camper safely arrives at camp. Campers will then head out for an action-packed tour of camp and registration for classes. Should your camper need to arrive late at camp, please call the camp office to arrange drop off times and dates.

Gates open at 7:45 a.m. on Closing Day. We understand that this is a very early morning; however, your camper can attest that after 10:00 a.m., our Amphitheater gets a bit warm! We release campers shortly after the majority of cars are parked. Be early – no one wants to be the one camper who is wandering around aimlessly watching other campers hugging and talking with their parents when his/her parents aren’t there yet!
Before the closing program begins, you and your camper will be treated to a picnic breakfast. You can also check out and pre-register your camper for the next summer at this time. Our closing program highlights the campers’ accomplishments during the term. Campers work VERY hard to put this together and are excited to be acknowledged for their achievements. Following the closing ceremony, you are invited to take a guided (with one of our staff members) or self-guided (led by your camper) tour of our facilities. Don’t miss your camper’s cabin where you can meet the cabin Guides, the lost and found table, and the Dining Hall where you can enjoy a term highlight video. All Closing Day events should conclude by 10:30 a.m.
Camp has plenty of dogs of our own; so we ask you kindly leave your pets at home.
All Navigators (four-week campers) attend the closing ceremonies and sit with their crews. Once the program concludes, all campers journey out of the gates on our Lonehollow bus to Kerrville for a movie and a meal. The following morning Navigators enjoy special camp activities, move into their new cabins, and then help Guides prep for and welcome the B session campers.
